We were approached by Banana Films to handle the visual effects for this feature film recounting the dramatic true story of a mother and daughter lost at sea.
Most of the twenty or so shots involved cleaning up greenscreens, removing rigs, or cleaning up waves that would give away a beachside shoot.
However, the most complicated were three shots of the boat at sea during the storm, which had to be entirely created in 3D.
Here you can see a brief breakdown of two of the shots, which involved building the boat from reference images taken before and during the shoot (including stand-in CG actors inside the cabin), and creating complex water simulations.
